Want to save time and money on the whole family’s car insurance? Consider a family-fleet policy!

All the family’s cars under one policy with one renewal date

For some, the coronavirus pandemic can lead to confusion as to what day of the week it is, let alone remembering the car insurance renewal dates for each member of the family.  A family fleet policy would enable you to make things really easy for the whole family by consolidating all the family’s vehicles under one policy: one renewal date for all.  Adding or deleting vehicles throughout the policy is an easy process.

Business vehicles can be included too

The advantages of a family fleet policy as regards saving time and reducing stress may be obvious but what may not be as obvious is the breadth of vehicles that could be included under this type of policy.   A bespoke family fleet policy can include vehicles for both personal and business use and can include:

  • Private cars and vans
  • Private and public hire
  • Minibuses, buses and coaches
  • Motorbikes and courier mopeds
  • Lorries and HGV’s and haulage vehicles

Again, as your fleet grows, you can add or remove vehicles from one policy making it easier to manage.

The three standard levels of covers are available, namely, comprehensive cover (offering the most protection covering any damage caused to your own or third-party fleet vehicles or property as a result of an accident, whether it be fault or non-fault); third party fire and theft cover (offering the second level of protection covering all third-party vehicles or property against any damage, whilst covering your own fleet vehicles against damage from theft or fire) and third party cover (offering the simplest level of protection covering third party only, which offers no protection for your own fleet vehicles, but will cover claims made against you for damages by any third parties).

Premium discounts!

There are a number of ways the premium of a family fleet policy can attract discounts:

  • there is an immediate administrative cost advantage for us of multiple vehicles under one policy which we in turn can pass on to you (“bulk-buying”).
  • the higher the number of vehicles in relation to drivers, the greater the premium can be saved.
  • an established fleet with a good claim’s history can often attract some great discounts (“no claims discounts”).  The good news here is that the no claims discount will be earned by all the drivers which can be particularly beneficial for younger drivers.

Plus, a premium discount may be offered if some younger family fleet members have some restrictions when establishing the policy, such as specifying which vehicle(s) they are authorised to use or installing a black box.

So, if you fancy all the benefits of the same policy for Dad’s family plumbing van, the family 4 x 4 and the daughter’s new wheels, why not mix business and pleasure and take out a family fleet policy.
